A CASED 54-BORE ADAMS MODEL 1851 PERCUSSION SELF-COCKING REVOLVER, CIRCA 1854, serial no. 13276R,
with 6in. London proofed octagonal barrel, the top flat inscribed 'DEANE ADAMS & DEANE, 30 KING WILLIAM ST, LONDON BRIDGE', borderline engraved frame marked 'ADAMS PATENT NO 13276R', sliding bolt safety, Birmingham proofed five shot cylinder marked, 'No 30623', one nipple missing, chequered one piece walnut grips with stepped oval butt-cap, likely historically refurbished with much charcoal blue remaining and a new cylinder fitted, contained in its correct purple velvet lined and partitioned oak case, accessories include correct Adams double cavity mould for ball and conical projectiles, with Adams registered design stamp, a copper bodied pistol flask by Dixon, and a pewter oil bottle. Other Notes: This is a late example of an Adams Model 1851 revolver made circa 1854 and built on the improved Adams frame that was later used on the early Beaumont Adams revolvers produced from 1855.
